i have a theory that much of women’s oppression in places influenced by abrahamic faiths, can be traced back to circumcision. a visceral, traumatic, genital mutilation. sexual trauma runs deep and we often externalize our inner turmoil and insecurities. is see it as no coincidence, the years old practice of shaming women’s bodies, sexuality, voice, and the fact that most western men began their life with violation. how would a baby internalize such an act? how would that trauma live in the body? how would he move about the world? how would he treat the object of his desire? this vessel is a celebration of the untouched male form.
